| Dear
Sir,
I have just received the employees of your company concerning your establishment in Aix-en Provence where you consider, it seems, the total closing of a department, that is to say, 36 employees equivalent to 45 % of manpower of Aix. You are not without knowing the importance of the problem of unemployment in our area and taking into account the quality of the department concerned, we would appreciate that you reconsider this decision. This would be all the more happy as, according to research we undertook, it seems that the commercial difficulties in this department for 2 years have not been the fact of the economic situation, but actually of the disease, then dismissal and especially the non replacement of the commercial attaché. Under these circumstances, the order book of this department, failing canvassing, was then reduced to the only files in progress. Therefore, the revival of this canvassing would be likely to revitalize this department. You will agree, that this step deserves to be carried out because it is a question of saving 36 employees and restructuring the profitability of this department. Therefore, I think that it would be detrimental as well to the interests of your company as to its employees not to proceed that way. Not to follow this recommendation
would give the regrettable impression that not everything has been done
to save employment.
I would be glad to discuss this file with you. I look forward to hearing from you, sincerely yours. Maryse JOISSAINS MASINI |
